Hi and Lo

Today had my fair share of high and lows.

The first came as an embarrassment when I dozed of during the 2pm meeting with a colleague..she was so nice about it, saying 'Wah, tired ah?' after the whole seminar. Felt sooo damn bad. That was when it hit me - body's hitting that working-life poor metobolism, unspent calories phase. It's pretty standard - at 10am and 2pm, the body goes into auto-pilot, shut down mode.

I HAD TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. CAN'T RISK HAVING ANOTHER COLLEAGUE/COLLEAGUES/BOSS BESIDE ME, SEEING HOW I PERSISTENTLY NOD OFF AT THE EVER-IMPORTANT MEETINGS.

So, knowing how the tummy rumbles after i knock off from work at 7pm, I headed to Cold Storage, grabbed my trusty Quaker snack bars (Smores flavoured) and munched on one. I had a plan, and it was to get my ass jogging once i reached home.

After much psyching up along the train ride home I relented to SG Idol till 9pm, then i hit the road for a good 20 minute workout. Soon after, i felt much much better.

Realised the trick to handling this growing up thing is really one word - DISCIPLINE.

Now I appreciate the times where teachers told us not to dye our hair, walk sloppy, wear proper uniforms and what not. Cos seriously, as an adult, if you do not have discipline in the fibres of your character, it is very hard to put things in perspective and be the best that you can be.

My July aim (yes my friends, start with monthly/weekly aims to self-improvement) is to
1. eat more slowly for better digestion
2. not fall asleep at work
3. go for 20 minute jogs at least twice a week for starters to kick in the healthy me
4. iron work clothes and pack my bags by 10pm (ok now's 1046pm)
5. Sleep by 11pm (But maybe i'll save monday and wednesday - Grey's anatomy and Living with Fran!! I am SUCH a tv junkie.)

'Tis all for now. Till then my friends, spend wisely, save electricity and love yourself more. Much love.
