Don't you just love spare mins from lunch?
Well, am back in the office after a day off yesterday. Visited the polyclinic for the throat infection/flu and pretty much zonked out the whole day. Fantastic stuff.
Anyways, I caught my first rock concert on Tuesday Night (yes, with trembling hands, bad throat and all) to catch the Scottish band Mogwai. It is officially my first rock concert, but it was very art-rock kind, and eventhough there were loud distortions, crazy amplifiers, etc. the band was well-balanced with electronica sounds generated from computers and what have you. Loved it. I mean it wasn't my scene, nor was it any of his, but i found a nice comfort knowing that we were exposing our musical selves to something out of ordinary. Plus all the mod, pseudo-heavy-rock-cum-scene kids was flooding the place..and there i was in my office wear complete with blazer and all. Figured i'd just go for the cool-corporate-yuppie look.
Towards the end I was hoping that their 10-min long songs would be made shorter during the encore, cos I was pretty bored of the stuff..and halfway I found myself hoping that they'd cover mainstream rock like Oasis? I dunno. Something i can relate to. But like a true-blue original band, Mogwai stayed true to themselves and rocked the night, Mogwai-styled.
All in all, I'd say that they may pretty well save my week, aside from the packs of antibiotics and stream of nite-telly shows on channel 5.
Lame, i know. :p
