Sexy and Flawless

That was how I'd describe John Legend's performance on Monday.
After work, met up with my babe and Esa, who got for us a Vanilla lattes from Starbucks cos we won't have time for food b4 the concert..

Once in the theatre, I couldn't stop squeeling...for the first time ever I was excited about seeing the man in flesh and blood.. so that was Groupie 101 for me.. The seats we got were high up, but directly in the centre. Couldn't complain much.

Then one of John Legend's backup singer, Tara Michelle or smthg..came and warmed up the crowd..but we were all impatient for John Legend. So she did 3 songs or so, and all of us went, like yea..'Where's JOHN LEGEND?!??!'

She ended her thing, then the stage was all blacked out..we were waiting in anticipation for John..then for like 5 minutes of cheering, howling, shouting from the crowd, he finally came on stage. And once he started singing, the crowd went wild!!!!

I stood up and started dancing, jus as the many others did..but was worried I'd be blocking the dude behind me, so switched places with my boy. Man, it was surreal. The man was sexy with his croons, and we were blown away...

I mean, I haven't gotten his latest album and all, but they were good..John was amazing on the keys, his voice was powerful, sounded just like the CD, even better in real life!!! His band - very professional. Super soulful, groovy, funky..man. I'd pay just to go for their jamming sessions man!! Tight as hell, and John was hot...hot hot HOT!!!

Then he had a slow song..and invited some skinny girl on stage to dance with him. I wished I was her!!! ARGH!!! She was like grooving and grinding on John.. argh1!!!!!

But my favs was when he sang Ordinary People and his last encore song, So High. Particularly because with Ordinary People, the whole esplanade crowd was spellbound. We were quiet, so that the Legend himself would sing it, and it wasn't disappointing at all!!! Then he made us sing some parts, to which the audience was already hypnotised..of course, we sang...it was beautiful.

Then just as I was telling my babe that he wasn't gonna sing our fav song So High, John started on the keys for his last encore and I went, 'That's our song baby, he's gonna sing it!!!'

What was most memorable experience was that his songs were simple, and they reached the depths of our hearts..to lovers who were there, it was the perfect moment to retreat in your own world with your lover, and just treasure the moment with the other half. We were spellbound, blown away, and it felt like John was singing exactly what was written in our hearts..

Simply perfect.

Pics will be next!!! Small ones, but they were the best I could take from where I was..
For the rest of the time, I was too engrossed in the performance to snap anything..hehe~
