What an eventful Friday..started off with an interview which spun off a few other options..hope things come into fruition soon..
After that I joined the dept's Welfare Club for an outing with some residents of a Home. I buddied with an elderly man, who was pretty ok when I tried conversing with him. He was more comfy talking in Mandarin, so I was glad that I could have decent conversations and make small talk in Mandarin.
Being with the home's residents made me reflect on how we take so many things for granted - like being blessed with 5 senses that work, being able to have a decent family, education, friends and having the ability to earn a living. These are things which not the residents may not be able to enjoy - it makes me wonder, what makes me different from them? We're humans after all, but I'm so blessed with God's tidings.
It makes all the other things trivial - money, titles, etc.
Yet these are the very things we strive for, and cuss over, when really, what we should be grateful for, is the very fact that we have been blessed - far more than we thought we have been.
For that, I'm especially grateful for all I've been blessed with. A loving husband, a caring family, great friends and a decent living. What more can you ask for?
