I remembered last week, I was waiting for my hubby at the train station. A man came up to me, from some foundation/charity/non-profit(?) foundation which allows ex-offenders to start anew by selling $2 pens to people at MRT stations.
I remembered thinking he was probably another one of those annoying people trying to get some cash out of people. Then he went on to show me a pic of his family, and how he gets a 50% pay from the sales he garnered.
I remember saying to myself that sometimes, a second chance is all we need. Just that one chance - to make things right, just that one chance - to show the world what you've got, just that chance - to make it all worthwhile.
I got the pen, said a lil prayer in my heart, that my second chance may come soon too. After all, what goes round does come around.
Today my second chance came at 8.45am on a rainy Monday morning. I got called down for a recruitment event at a company I've been dying to work for. It'll be my 2nd shot at it.
Believe in second chances, cos they do happen.
And remember to give a special someone a second chance, especially when they need one.
