Ramadan was a great month of faith, patience, love and getting in touch with one's spirituality. Needless to say, the last 4 weeks has brought its joys and blessings, which more often than not presented itself in the dilemmas we face, and the choices we make on a daily basis. It could have been the time we consciously decided not to 'lose our cool', have more patience and not resort to vulgarities when you were steaming red in the face. It may be the time you gave alms, and gave what you could to the less fortunate. To me, it was a good reminder of how blessed I was, with the richness and abundance He has bestowed upon us. At a gathering where we were breaking fast, an ustaz was preaching and he said something which hit a chord with me;
"There once was a tale of a man who lost one arm and one leg, on the same day he lost his son. While his villagers were grieving with him this man said, 'All praise to the Almighty, for he gave me 4 limbs, and took away 2, and where he gave me 7 sons, he took away 1.'"
"What He has taken, he has bestowed, and where He has tested, He has showered.."

Tomorrow we celebrate Hari Raya Puasa, and to all my Muslim friends I wish you a meaningful Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin. May you spend this day in the sweet company of your loved ones. More importantly, may we carry forward these good deeds and traits henceforth, that we may be better Muslims each and everyday.
Eid Mubarak!
